Short-Term Running Goals:

Summer:

build to up 70+ miles per week, occasional core and races, follow Jake's school's summer training plan until about August when I'll focus more on the half marathon; new goal: under 17 for 5k. 16:30 for 5k by the end of the summer

 Fall:

By next October I'm shooting to be under 1:20 for an Albany, NY half marathon.

Otherwise, just keeping up the miles so that I'm healthy, and possibly competitive, for a long time to come.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Eventually I would like to run a marathon, hopefully going under 3 hours, maybe significantly so. I'll think about that one when it's more in sight. I hope to continue improving my 5k time in the meantime.

Personal:

I'm an undergraduate at Brown University and part of the running club there. I'm told I should read Once a Runner, especially now that it's in print again... We'll see if that happens. Ok, so I read it, haha. It's awesome.

2 days off in a row, FAIL... couldn't run in morning, was busy, during the day it was 95 out and i was busy, when i wasn't busy i had to decide between running or seeing Inception first and then running when it was dark. i decided to see the movie, then got home at like 9:45 and was like no way i'm running 14 starting now when i have work tomorrow. wtf. so i'm gonna double a bunch this week to hit the same mileage, minus a long run. blah. wtfever. first 2 days off in a row since May. at first i was gonna run at 5 am before work, then have 8 easy afterwards, but that didn't seem like a great idea... i had dreams about telling people i missed my long run! lol.. gotta take a step back and get over it, do the miles throughout the week, and keep going. two days with so little running made me realize i like the breaks. but no time for that yet...

It's okay. It takes some time to develop real discipline. I know that sounds like trash talk but im serious. And you are moving in the right direction this summer. Both with fitness and discipline.
