Short-Term Running Goals:

Summer:

build to up 70+ miles per week, occasional core and races, follow Jake's school's summer training plan until about August when I'll focus more on the half marathon; new goal: under 17 for 5k. 16:30 for 5k by the end of the summer

 Fall:

By next October I'm shooting to be under 1:20 for an Albany, NY half marathon.

Otherwise, just keeping up the miles so that I'm healthy, and possibly competitive, for a long time to come.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Eventually I would like to run a marathon, hopefully going under 3 hours, maybe significantly so. I'll think about that one when it's more in sight. I hope to continue improving my 5k time in the meantime.

Personal:

I'm an undergraduate at Brown University and part of the running club there. I'm told I should read Once a Runner, especially now that it's in print again... We'll see if that happens. Ok, so I read it, haha. It's awesome.

2 strides and a few drills afterwards. coincidentally ran into jake while with nimrod since jake didn't run yesterday, went to the cubs vs sox game instead. pretty crazy that we left at the same time and met at the halfway mark between his house and mine! he hasn't been feeling so good for a long time, thinks it's from the lifting he has to do. he emailed his coach who told him to not do workouts this week, just mileage. i decided i want to take advantage of this to run a speed workout tomorrow with nimrod. does 5x200m, full rest sound right? prolly gonna do a tempo on saturday, this time 4 miles, gah.

5x200 or even 5x150 if its gonna be true sprinting. You can work up to 200s. At first they do build up a good deal of lactic acid and its hard to keep correct form in the last 50m if its an all out sprint. This is the kind of workout nimrod might actually give you a run for your money on.

Also, funny that you are dreading the 4 mile tempo while I live for the tempo and dread the VO2max. Also, 1 dollar says I go sub 16:30 before you. Deal?

lol i wouldn't say dreaddd, it's something i would definitely want to be ready for though! yea, nim will probably wreck me on these sprints lol. anyway, yea, it's on lol, dollar for 16:30 first
